Frequently Asked Questions

We aim to manufacture and deliver all our doors within 4-6 weeks.  We offer a regular nationwide delivery service. All our deliveries will be carried out safely and to kerbside.

As standard our doors are supplied unglazed with loose mitred glazing beads.  If you have a specific requirement for glazing please contact our Sales Team who will be able to assist you with your enquiry.  

We do not provide any ironmongery.

Immediately after delivery and before hanging:

• Check your door at the time of delivery.  Any issues must be reported to us within 24 hours of delivery.
• Store under cover in a well-ventilated building. Do not store in a container as the variations in temperature will cause movement in the timber resulting in shakes and splits. 
• Store doors flat on at least three level bearers. This reduces the chance of moisture from the floor affecting the timber and reduces the chance of the product sagging.

Hanging your doors:

• Doors should be fitted square
• Do not cut into the mortice and tenon joints.
• Where the door is cut, newly exposed timber must be swabbed with a suitable preservative. Ensure all cuts are painted and sealed to avoid moisture intake.

Finishing:

• Ensure all surfaces are in good condition before applying finishing coats.
• The doors are to be fully painted on both faces and along all four edges.  
• Decoration should be completed before hanging the door.  The use of microporous paints, stains or varnishes is not recommended.

Our doors may be despatched with extended stiles (horns) to ensure protection during transit & storage. They can easily be removed prior to installation.
